WP1 - Educational opportunities

WP1 is dedicated to exploring the relationship between geographical location and educational disparities. Its objectives encompass the following:

  • Investigating whether students who grow up in marginalized areas face academic disadvantages in terms of achievement levels, and comparing their educational trajectories with those of their counterparts in central areas throughout their academic journey.
  • Examining how residing in a specific geographical region influences the placement of students in different high-school tracks.
  • Analyzing the evolution of educational inequalities over time in both marginal and central areas.

By undertaking these inquiries, we aim to gain a comprehensive understanding of the complex interplay between geography, social origin and education. Moreover, we aspire to identify potential strategies that can be employed to address and mitigate educational disparities across diverse geographical areas.
