Maria Rita Testa is an Associate Professor of Demography and Director of the Bachelor Program in Political Sciences at Luiss University in Rome, Italy. Prior to her current position, she held senior researcher positions at the Vienna Institute of Demography of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and was an adjunct professor at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Her research focuses on reproductive decision-making, family, fertility, environmental change, social sustainability, life course analysis, and panel/multilevel data analysis.

Stefano degli Uberti is a Research Fellow at CNR-Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, specializing in social anthropology and migration studies. His research interests include transnational migration, integration and diversity, migration policy, and West Africa. Stefano is committed to understanding the complex cultural and social dimensions of migration, and his work focuses on the lived experiences of migrants, the role of cultural practices and traditions in shaping migration patterns, and the policies and practices that impact migrant communities.

Barbara Brollo is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Luiss University in Rome, Italy. She holds a PhD in Economic and Political Geography with a thesis on temporary population in the urban context of Rome. Among her research interests there are urban studies, regional economics, gentrification, well-being indicators and residential mobility.

Eleonora Meli is a sociologist and social researcher at ISTAT- Italian National Statistical Insitute. Since 2001 she has been working as a researcher at Istat in the field of social statistics, in particular in the field of multipurpose household surveys. She is responsible for the household survey 'Families, social subjects and life cycle'. Her research projects explore various family-related topics, in particular her research interests concern caregivers, support networks, family structures and transformations, the life cycle, social mobility and child autonomy.
